The Oo La La range of cards aims to be a bit greetings card Burlesque. A little bit naughty, a little bit “Ooo errr matron”. Inspired by a childhood of studying the Girls of St Trinians as a personal aspiration and being told off for looking at Donald McGill’s brilliant Saucy sea side post cards . All images used are either in the public domain or I have purchased a license some are collaged from my collection of magazines and comics of the 1920s 1940s 1950s 1960s. I really do not mean to offend, just to amuse and entertain. if you are easily offended, please avert your eyes.
All cards are created here at home in my studio. They are printed onto scrap high quality paper stock, sourced from The Scrap Store in Hull, who sell excess materials from local industry that would otherwise end up in landfill, so whilst always of a high quality, the colour and texture might vary one batch of rescued paper to another. The embellishments I use are, in line with my aim to recycle and reuse, whenever possible sourced locally here up north from charity shops, carboot sales, bricabrac and antique stalls and if new is required from that little haberdashery around the corner in Lincoln or Grimsby.
Cards can be bought singly or in a discounted pack of 4. All cards can be personalised for a small design fee. We will be bringing out a seasonal version of these cards.
