The Oo La La range of cards aims to be a bit greetings card Burlesque. A little bit naughty, a little bit “Ooo errr matron”. Inspired by a childhood of studying the Girls of St Trinians as a personal aspiration and being told off for looking at Donald McGill’s brilliant Saucy post cards as a child. All images used are either in the public domain or I have purchased a license, many are snipped out of my out of control vintage magazine collection, no chazza shop, skip or auction house is safe from my attention…….I call it recycling, my husband says its a problem. I do not mean to offend, just to amuse and entertain. if you are easily offended, please avert your eyes.
All cards are designed, printed and embellished by me in my little tack room studio in the court yard at home. They are printed onto scrap paper stock, a by-product of the packaging industry in Hull, so whilst always of a high quality, the colour and texture might vary from one batch of rescued paper to another. The embellishments I use are, whenever possible recycled or if new, sourced from small retailers, often called Carol or Marjorie usually up north and if not from around the corner from the UK. Lilly Rosebud is protected from the cold by a compostable envelope made from recycled paper and from the rain by an EN13432 compostable PLA rain coat. If the order is large a compostable box made from recycled card will be used, also sourced in the UK, or if I have an old box I will press it into service if you don’t mind. Smaller orders will be sent out in a sustainable brown envelope. I like to use the local post office in the village to ensure they don’t take it away!
Cards can be bought singly or in a discounted pack of 4. All cards can be personalised for a small design fee. I will be bringing out a seasonal version of these cards. As the embellishments used on these cards are detachable please keep out of the reach of pets and children.
