Festive David Pulls – 4 Pack
Festive David Pulls – 4 Pack
£23.00
As promised Dave is pimped up for the festive season, bedecked and bebaubled he can’t wait to get out there and party. If truth be known it’s been tricky keeping him under wraps, he’s been dressed up like this since August Bank Holiday. Any way here he is, dusted down and free to mingle at will.
David is hanging out festively on high quality but scrap paper, a bi product of the packaging industry in Hull. Sometimes this paper will be smooth, sometimes textured, it just depends what is surplus to it’s day job. He is printed on two sides in glorious technicolour by hand in my studio on my Epson Ecotank ET – 7750. His Tassels (cotton) and other embellishments are sourced locally from real shops run by mostly by real Nannas. When folded he is 150mm by 104mm and extends, when open, to an impressive 300mm!! He is designed folded and finished by myself and given a fancy loop made from red waxed bookbinding thread from the mecca of bookbinding supplies that is Rachfords in Stockport, this, so you can hang him from any convenient tree or Mistletoe sprig you fancy. He has asked if possible he could be dangled away from through drafts due to the shortcomings in his costume and his tendancy to chills.(I did say he should have thought about that earlier!) This is why for postage purposes he is dressed in a cosy C6 recycled and recyclable British Harry Manila envelope.
Dave can be purchased in gaggles of 5, he has kept himself trim so he can travel under the steam of a normal first or second class stamp.

Polly Pram Dolly
Polly Pram Dolly
£11.50
The pram was spied up on a shelf at Hemswel Antique Market, well it had to be snapped didnt it? The dolly, well, is one of my own, I can’t remember where she was found, but here she is printed, cut out and collaged, she is not particularly happy she is back in a pram as she was born in 1942. The background is a 1030s silk handkerchief I purchased from Newark Antique fair.

Polly pull – 4 pack
Polly pull – 4 pack
£4.00
I found Polly on a trip to a local Antique and Collectables Centre close by (largest in europe apparently!). A 1950s girl, Polly and her brood will feature regularly on Miles From The Nearest Lemon products as she is just so fab! This is her first modeling assignment, as you can see, she was not quite ready for her closeup.

Siouxsie Sioux – single card
Siouxsie Sioux – single card
£4.00
Those of you old enough to be Punk Rockers with remember Siouxsie Sioux and her Banshees. Now Victorian Doll’s heads aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but I think she it spookily fab and perfectly illustrates the power of strange things, rather like Siouxsie, I found her at Hemswell antique market. Her outfit today suggests she has also been rifling about in the hat box and by the way, is pictured reclining on a sumtuous crocheted fragment of finest green, her collaged eye mask was borrowed from a short story called Spangled Reverie as featured in the christmas number of Everywoman December 1953.

The Minx – pack of 4

The Minx – pack of 4
£23.00
This is one of a range of cards designed as a bit of a tease, the outside to tantalise and beguile, the inside to surprise and amuse in the tradition of the saucy seaside postcards. All cards are designed, handmade and printed using recycled or surplus card. Boob cards are embellished with bits and bobs gleaned from a variety of local chazza shops and bargain bins. This collection of cards features an image owned by The Met Art Gallery in New York who have generously made it available in the public domain. It is called Beauty Revealed and was a self portrait painted in 1850 by Sarah Goodridge as a gift for a widower she held a torch for called Daniel Webster, Steamy eh? Sadly, he went off and married another…….awks!
Colour of tassles may vary to that shown. Speaking of Tassles, they are easily pulled off by determined children and dogs and this could be dangerous so please keep out of their reach.

The Whisky Twins – 4 pack
The Whisky Twins – 4 pack
£4.00
I found this shop display in Louth and just had to have it, who wouldn’t…….thank you Lee. As you can see The Whisky Twins are also planning a day at the races sporting (sorry) a couple of crocheted micro hats. Luckily I was able to record the preparations and here they are suited and booted awaiting the Charabanc.
